Welcome to Grady Animal Hospital

In 2012, Mark Caporaso, DVM opened Grady Animal Hospital. For twenty years Dr. Caporaso worked in a large number of both general practices, and emergency and referral hospitals.

His goal in opening Grady was to provide affordable, comprehensive care to our companion animals in need. Grady was named after a small country town from the movie Doc Hollywood in which an aspiring plastic surgeon is on his way to his new job in Hollywood. He gets stuck in a small town called Grady and ends up staying to be the local general practitioner. The small town country doctor feel was what Dr. Caporaso, or as most people call him Dr. Mark or Doc, envisioned for his practice. The goals of Grady are to treat all clients equally, never turn away an animal in need, and practice with honesty and the highest integrity.

Grady animal hospital sits on the site of the iconic lamplighter restaurant. In it’s day, the lamplighter was a meeting place for local residents. Dr. Mark felt it was important to honor the memory of the lamplighter as it holds fond memories for many of our friends, neighbors and clients as well. When stepping into the lobby at Grady you can view the original sign that hung outside of the lamplighter as well as the beautiful lamppost that stands proudly in front of our building. An original cabinet from the restaurant serves as the coffee cart in our waiting room. Often times, clients relay stories to us of the good times they spent at the lamplighter.

Much like the lamplighter Grady has become a place where you are likely to run into a neighbor and their pet and strike up a conversation. Dr. Mark prides himself in treating our clients and their pets as part of the family.

For those of you who are already part of the Grady family we thank you for the trust you have put in us in caring for your beloved pets. It is because of your continued support Grady is the success it is today. We look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.
